Body decoration
Henna Paint has a long history for being used as body decoration. It is believed that Henna Paint was first used in Arabic Asian cultures (e.g. Marocco, Middle East, Pakistan and India). Traditionally Henna designs have been used to decorate the body with large floral patterns - usually on hands and feet, however face and other part of the body are frequently painted in these cultures as well.
The use of Henna decorations pertains to cultural significant events, such as religious or other ceremonial practices (e.g. the extensive body decorations used at weddings).
Today, Henna Paint has become known and used among people from a large range of different cultures. In most Western cultures Henna Paint has become popular due to the non-permanent and temporary effect on skin. All sorts of designs are commonly used to make a statement - much like a permanent tattoo.
